The GigaVUE Family Presentation
GigaVUE-2404 Data Access Switch
The GigaVUE-2404 is a high density Data Access Switch for 10G centric data center networks. Housed in a low profile 2U chassis, the GigaVUE-2404 aggregates, replicates and filters traffic to multiple passive monitoring tools. It is a powerful 10G tool aggregator capable of full line rate performance and transfer latency of only 6 μsec.
The GigaVUE-2404’s modular design allows network managers to deploy the exact number of ports necessary to fit their requirements. The base chassis houses eight 10G ports and four 1G and scales to a maximum of twenty-four 10G ports.
Multiple GigaVUE-2404 data access switches can be stacked together with existing GigaVUE-MP or GigaVUE-420 chassis into a much bigger virtual GigaVUE fabric of over 200 ports. GigaVUE-2404 switches are designed to be compatible with the GigaVUE-420 or the GigaVUE-MP.
The GigaVUE-420 provides a cost effective solution to monitoring enterprise networks and data centers. Network Engineers who face the problems of multiple network segments to monitor, multiple tools to deploy, too few SPAN ports and TAPs can now easily solve all of these issues.
GigaVUE-420 base unit is available with 4 copper 10/100/1000 ports or four fiber optic SFP ports. Four optional 1G expansion or TAP module bays are available on the front panel and four 10G expansion or TAP module bays are available on the rear panel. When fully configured the GigaVUE-420 supports four 10G ports and twenty 1G ports plus stacking. Dual redundant load sharing 110/240V AC power supplies or dual redundant load sharing -48V DC power supplies are available.
The GigaPort expansion module adds four copper and/or fiber-optical Gigabit Ethernet ports to the GigaVUE-420 or GigaVUE-MP. Each port can
be independently set as 10/100/1000 Base-T RJ-45 Ethernet, or 1000 Base-Sx/Lx/Zx Ethernet ports with multimode or singlemode SFP.
Optional Accessories:
SFP (optical pluggable transceiver):
SFP502: Sx 850 nm (550Meter)
SFP503: Lx 1310 nm (10km)
SFP504: Zx 1550 nm (40km
10GigaTAP
The 10GigaTAP module when installed in the back of the GigaVUE-420 provides the ability to split and copy inbound and outbound optical data streams. Replicant data is then forwarded to network monitoring tools at 1 or 10 Gbps. Gigamon's 10GigaTAP is available in three varieties to accommodate any fiber optic insallation.
10GigaTAP options:
SR-LC/Multimode, 850nm
LR-LC/Multimode, 1310nm
ER-LC/Multimode, 1550nm
GigaTAP-Sx/Lx
The GigaTAP is a dual optical splitter module. adds 4 optical splitter ports to the GigaVUE-420 or GigaVUE-MP. GigaTAP-Sx and Lx modules provide the ability to tap two fiber optic Gigabit Ethernet links (1000BASE-SX or 1000BASE-Lx). The GigaTAP-Sx/Lx modules use a passive fiber optic splitter to tap the in-line signal flowing through the module for distribution to the GigaVUE-420 or GigaVUE-MP tool ports. There are two pairs of LC ports for tapping two different MM or SM FDX fiber links. Split ratio 70/30.
GigaTAP model numbers:
TAP-202: MultiMode SR 850nm
TAP-203: SingleMode LR 1310nm
GigaTAP-Tx
The GigaTAP-Tx module when installed in GigaVUE-420 or GigaVUE-MP provides the ability to TAP two copper Gigabit Ethernet links, copying traffic to specified tool ports as it flows throught the TAP. There are two pairs of RJ45 connectors per module. Each pair TAPs a single 10/10/1000 Base-T FDX Ethernet link. The GigaTAP-Tx features fault tolerance and link failure propagation. Magnetic relays maintain the link even under power fail conditions. GigaTAP-Tx ports can be used as either network or tool ports.
Link TAP Mechanism:
Electronically repeats the
link signals when in ACTIVE
mode and port-pairing
is established.
GigaTAP model numbers (copper only):
TAP-201: Dual copper 10/100/1000 ethernet TAP module
GigaLINK-Cu
GigaLINK modules provide high-speed connectivity to 10G links and can be used as network, tool, or stacking ports. GigaLINK modules can be installed in the x1, x2, x3, and x4 slots at the rear of the unit. Slots x1 and x2 can be used as stacking ports to extend your Data Access Network accross multiple chassis.
Optional Accessories:
Stacking cable: CX4 copper cable (5/10/15 Meters)
GigaLINK-Fo
The GigaLINK -SR, -LR, or -ER adds one 10 Gigabit Ethernet fiber optic port to the GigaVUE-420. A single 10GigE XFP is included in each module.
